event 1 recap

What a wonderful evening! We are so blessed to have about 60 people (about 45 youth) in attendance to hear the presentation on how we know we can trust the Bible. Pastor Richard Bage gave great information on the reliability of scripture. Not only by the witness contained in scripture, but all the historical and research resources that affirm the accuracy of the Bible. Obviously there's no way to deeply cover every aspect in which the Bible is proven to be the inerrant word of God, but our goal is to give a starting point for youth in their apologetics growth. Equipping youth to know the truth of the their faith in Christ is key to making them bold disciple-makers in their community. Knowing that the Christian faith can be proven and stand up to the challenges of the world should give Christians great encouragement. The Q&A session had some great questions from the youth and it was great to engage directly with questions the youth were thinking about.

thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event happen! special thanks to richard bage, nick klassen, and marty falk for their key roles in making this event a reality.

We want to also provide a few ministry resources that are a blessing in different apologetic areas (in no particular order). There are many great ministries that provide various apologetic focuses, but the ones listed here are ones we have personally used and have seen their Biblical faithfulness, honoring Jesus and the Gospel of Christ.

Evidential apologetics - cold case christianity (by j warner wallace)

J warner Wallace is a former cold case homicide detective that came to faith as he investigated the 4 Gospels using his detective skills to try and prove Christianity false. God then turns everything around on him and he ends up being convinced that Christianity is true. Cold Case Christianity was my first evidential apologetic resource and it's very accessible and even has kids curriculum and his book are interesting and easy reads.

Scriptural apologetics - wes huff and apologetics canada

Wes Huff has had a huge impact in culture especially in the past year. With good reason too. He offers clear teaching on the reliability of scripture, tackles common objections and gives good Biblical critique of errant views of the reliability and continuity of scripture. His videos are concise and contains great information that many people would not have previously known about how we can know thew Bible is completely trustworthy. Plus he has a good sense of humor and is total nerd(in a good way). Check out his resources and the ministry he works for Apologetics Canada.

Scriptural apologetics - michael j kruger (canon fodder)

Michael J Kruger is a fantastic teacher on the canon of scripture. Which is especially important as the claim from the world can often be that "we can't trust the Bible because there's missing books" or "the Bible was formed and decided by a council of men who wanted to have scripture line-up with their own preferences" and many objections like it. Michael J Kruger from his writings and presentations offers plenty of solid evidence and understanding on how the Bible was formed and assembled and how scripture was and is recognized as the very words of God. His books can be a bit intimidating as they are quite academic, but well worth the time and offer so many valuable insights.

Archeological apologetics - expedition bible (Joel Kramer)

Joel Kramer of Expedition Bible does a fantastic job in showing the real world locations recorded in the Bible. Not only does he offer insight of places recorded in the Bible, but shows evidence of various Biblical events. Obviously we read and know that what God has recorded in His word is true, and it's really cool to see video and pictures of what we read in the Bible. So if you're looking for an archeological source for your growth in your knowledge of your faith, Expediaition Bible is a great resource.

We hope these resources will be a blessing to you, and regardless of who or what ministry you are receiving innformation from, always compare what is being said to the word of god.
